Training & Education

Bachelor of Design, Fashion Design Major, Minor in Fashion Design, Minor in Accounting for Business Decisions
Curtin University, Perth, Western Australia

Through her Bachelor Degree, Madelyn has developed the skills necessary to work in the Design and Production Sector of the Fashion Industry.
This sector involves creating to given briefs, from the initial design stages, through to the development and manufacturing of garments and/or accessories. In this sector, there are job opportunities for self- employment, working independently through contract work with other companies, or working as a team member for an external company. She specialises in one-off theatrical, bespoke garments, custom fit to clientele and is looking to develop her skills by working both independently through her own business, Madelyn Jane Designs, and through other companies as part of their design team. She is focussed on enhancing the local fashion design landscape in Australia, involving herself in small, onshore design and production, enabling Australian fashion to continue to provide for the Australian economy and have even more of the spotlight in the global fashion market, “allowing it to flourish and be more sustainable.” (Roseby for Ernst & Young Australia, p.3, page 22. 2021)
